Perry Not Letting Anyone Run to His Right
"After just a few days in the Republican Presidential race, Rick Perry is as big and brash as the state he governs. Before he formally announced, our polling had placed the four-term Texas Governor at the head of the GOP pack, and I suspect his outspoken start as an official candidate sounded very good to the party base.
"However, Perry’s bravado may not play as well with the entire electorate; and his record is very susceptible to attack from the other Republicans who want to oppose Barack Obama, and from Obama himself."

Perry and Bachmann are not only Christianists (as coined by Andrew Sullivan), they are Dominionists as well. A Christianist disinformation campaign to reinterpret the Constitution as a Christian document and the early history of the republic as a Christian history has continued for some time and lays the groundwork for Christianists to position themselves as authoritative interpreters of the Constitution and public morality. This arrogance has already lead Perry to accuse Bernacke of treason, to claim Social Security is unconstitutional, and to hate gays. It will be interesting to see if Perry can successfully repackage himself for general acceptability if he gets the Republican nomination based on his Christianist positions. I suspect that he will have plenty of old oil money to make a run for it.

Rick Perry is a great man and it would be an honor to have a real American in the White house, than a hater of Christains. We must not let our country go the way of England, France & Germany. I have string ties to Texas and know a few Republicans there. They are conservative enough to brand me liberal, when in fact I see myself as a moderate. In that light, I have checked in with these Texans, and they think Perry is a lose cannon. They cited a number of incidents from his years as governor which are unfamiliar to us at the national level as reasons he has no business in the White House.

It scares me to think of Perry as a leader of this country. Many of those following him are not stating issues. They are simply state get Obama out. I think there are other issues they don't want to admit. I think Obama is doing well with what his has to work with.

I thing Mr Perry is the right person to kick Obama out of office since we can't afford another four yeard samo samo policies from Obama who is not capabile to be our President! I guess a lot of peoples who elect him last time they will not vote for him again, for GOD sake he is a community organiser or he should be an actor in Hollywood! there he should be!!!

For all the above comments, i feel that Mr Perry or any Republican, or any damm American citizen is more qulified than Obama to be our President! Obama is a scary man, don't understand what must do to America , too socialist and believe in a big Government, we need peoples who worked before and know what to be an employee waiting for your pay check at the end of the month after you pay your taxes, so he didn't work at all and doesn't have any clue about jobs & buinesses at all , Obama is a loser soaaaaaaaany person will be better than him, i don;t care anymore Obama must be given a pink slip!!!!!!!!!!

Perry has as much chance now as Ron Paul. His sleepy dopey debate performance was a self-assassination. The big money is committed to Romney and they own the party. The little people who get sidetracked by all these crazies are important to the GOP for their votes. The 1% don't care about them and they don't want to really know them. Bootlickers , like Mr Smithers, will get excited when FOX tells them to and oppose who FOX tells them to. Ailes support for Mayor9/11 didn't push him over, though the character assassination against Mc Cain was terrible (and a disgrace to our country). After Mc Cain, with big money friends & father-in-law won, the little people flip flopped to support the white guy. ( Sad that being a war hero was NOT why he was supported--being a war hero is a negative in the GOP , look how the heros have done--all branded rinos by the chicken hawks!) It is all Romney now, all the others are toast. This curious blip for Cain certainly won't play in the real south.

Perry would make a great President. This native Texan hates to see the petty and false things that are being said about Perry that have absolutely nothing to do with running the country. I hope Perry gets some sleep before the next debate. He was being invited everywhere and made two speeches just prior to the Florida debate and had one scheduled immediately following the debate. I feel like he lost sleep planning those speeches. He is normally a great speaker. He is not racist and has put blacks in high offices here in Texas. Perry is not pro-illegals! Nobody in Texas wants the border closed more than Perry and he has spent a huge amount of money doing what he can in that respect. Perry has no authrority to deport illegals. As governor, he must deal with things as as they are, not as he wishes them. Perry has served as our governor longer than any other person. Do you question the intelligence of Texas voters? If all American voters could speak personally with Rick Perry, he would win by a landslide. He is personable, sincere, patriotic and the best candidate for the Republicans. When Perry's poll numbers shot so high, the Democrats started shaking in their boots . Naturally they started to slander him as much as they can. They had hoped that Obama would be competing against Romney who is cocky, obnoxious and boring in his manner. How could Romney discourage Obamacare when he started the same in his state? Perry should be the Republican nominee if they hope to beat Obama. I pray they will wake up to that truth.
