UTICA, NY--A small majority of U.S. adults oppose the idea of paying student athlete's up to $5,000 annually for their participation in NCAA sports and support the right of universities to change the conferences in which they compete.

These results are from an Oct 28-Oct 31 IBOPE Inteligência interactive poll.

Many NCAA colleges and universities are changing or seeking to change what conference they compete in for athletics. For example, Nebraska left the Big 12 to compete in the Big 10. Texas A&M will leave the Big 12 to compete in the SEC, and TCU will enter the Big 12. Do you believe more should be done to keep conferences in tact?

IBOPE Inteligência International conducted an online survey of 2,175 adults. A sampling of IBOPE Inteligência's online panel, which is representative of the adult population of the U.S., was invited to participate. Slight weights were added to region, party, age, race, religion, gender, and education to more accurately reflect the population. The margin of error is +/- 2.1 percentage points. Margins of error are higher in sub-groups. The MOE calculation is for sampling error only.
